Location: Santiago, República Dominicana
Completion date: Spring 2012
Budget: $ 1.5 million USD
The project is located in Avenida Estrella Sadhalá, one of the most important and busiest streets in the city. It is a four (4) story building housing an eye clinic managed by one of the most recognized groups of doctors of the country. Its modern design responds to the needs of its users, the climatic conditions and soil types in the region as the city is located in a seismic zone.
The construction of the building began in December of 2010 and was completed in February 2012, using simple but durable materials: reinforced concrete, glass, sheetrock, polystyrene (insulated interior walls) and ceramic tile (flooring). The building totals 22,000 sq.ft., 5400 sq.ft. per floor. The first three (3) floors house the clinic with the fourth level consisting of individualized services related to medical areas. The building has 30 parking spaces below the clinic, optical center, cafeteria, operating rooms and a series of ancillary spaces related to the clinic. The exterior colors; gray, white and orange are a reflection of the corporate image of the client meant to express a sobriety and respect for what is being done within, without losing the sense of joy and warmth for their patients
